Milestones - Deppe Lean Bricks®
Just in time for the turn of the year 2024/2025, DEPPE's first water-struck Lean Brick® products have emerged from our kilns.
Compared to traditional facing bricks, Lean Bricks have a depth reduced by 5 cm, which corresponds to a reduction of more than 40%.
The New Dimensions:
240 mm x 65 mm x 71 mm
The Advantages:
- Approximately 40% less weight, volume, transport costs, and CO₂ emissions
- Approximately 40% more usable space during construction
Less is... less
From clay extraction to on-site processing, DEPPE Lean Bricks require:
- Less raw material
- Less energy input during firing
- Less energy for transport
- Less mortar and joint material, offering easier handling and shorter construction times
This resource-saving production process results in approximately 40% fewer CO₂ emissions compared to traditional brick formats.
Overall, this reduces construction costs, shortens construction time, and leads to more efficient building practices.
Lean Bricks® are currently available in the following colour variants as water-struck facing bricks:
Less is... more
DEPPE Lean Bricks offer:
- More usable space thanks to their slimmer design, providing additional room for insulation without increasing the depth of the exterior wall, making them ideal for urban construction projects
- New creative possibilities in facade design
Unchanged
- Lean Bricks are bricks for high aesthetic standards, available in all water-struck colour tones and soon also as extruded facing bricks
- Facade appearance is that of a standard format
- Durability
- Recyclability – All DEPPE bricks have always been fully recyclable, whether as re-use bricks or as secondary raw materials for the production of new bricks and other purposes
No Compromises
Lean Brick® offers an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient solution for sustainable brick construction without compromising on quality or design.
